  • We have in place an active Site-Based Committee comprised of the principal, corporate partner, teachers and parents.
  • Reading Incentive Programs sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization.
  • Cultural Arts Programs sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization to excite the intelligence of students and to address multicultural diversity.
  • Student choral and instrumental program performances.
  • A published Student Anthology resulting from the NJ State Council on the Arts/Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey's Writers-in-the-Schools Program, which is made possible, in part, by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the State of New Jersey.
  • Principal granted Distinguished Educator Award from Institute for Development of Educational Activities.
  • Adopted Core Curriculum Standards grades K-5.
  • Students trained as Video Crew.
  • DARE (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) as well as Council for Alcohol/Drug Education Programs.
  • Chamber of Commerce Before/After School Day Care.
  • Multicultural Day Celebration in native costume. Parental involvement and students from Montclair State University provide cultural information to all students.
  • Book Fair to encourage reading.
  • Earth Day Celebration for environmental awareness as well as an Arbor Day Celebration in conjunction with the Wayne Women's Garden Club to involve students, parents, and community resources in our school beautification.
  • Battle of The Books Competition.
  • Safety Patrol to promote student safety in and around school as well as on school buses. 5.8% students served on Safety Patrol.
  • New program initiatives to extend the University of Chicago Constructivist Math Program K-2 and an experiential Science Program K-2.
  • 22.6% of our students were mainstreamed into regular education for inclusion into least restrictive environment.
  • 2.6% students were selected to participate in All Wayne Chorus.
  • 2.3% students were selected participate in All Wayne Band.
  • 8.1% students participated in Student Inventions Through Education.
  • 2 students were selected to participate in a two day workshop, The Passaic County symposium for the Arts.
  • Before School Breakfast Program.
  • School newspaper, JFK Bulldog Bugle, published 4 times a year.
  • School store run by 5th graders.
  • School wide parent volunteer programs including Library Aides, Story Reading Aides, Computer Lab Aides.
